Closing Trades

When you trade from the dbFX rates window, positions will automatically close on a first in, first out (FIFO) basis. Alternatively, you can control which trades to close in 2 different ways:

1) Choose to close orders on a trade-by-trade basis

You can specifically choose to close an order, while leaving previous orders open. For example, right-click on the “close” box from the highlighted ticket and select the “close position” option from the pop-up menu. This will allow you to only close the position of your choice.

2) Link orders to positions

Orders linked to positions will close the specific position it is linked to, rather than the first position opened. An order can be linked to a position at the time it is opened, as well as afterwards, and you can link both stop loss and limit orders to positions.
